"Hunt for the Skinwalker"

Since he first covered stories about the goings-on at Area 51 in 1989, George Knapp has been fearless in going where the news was—even though his willingness to explore UFO subjects has earned him ridicule from some of his mainstream media colleagues. Engineer Bob Lazar chose to reveal what he claimed to know about back-engineering of alien space vehicles to George, who treated the story like any other newsworthy topic—with journalistic integrity.

Most recently, with co-author Colm Kelleher, George penned the riveting book, Hunt for the Skinwalker: Science Confronts the Unexplained at a Remote Utah Ranch. Long kept under wraps, the strange events witnessed at a family’s ranch, later purchased by millionaire Bob Bigelow for scientific study, include everything from cattle mutilations, mysterious creatures and UFOs. Now George will share with MUFONOC some of what he learned during his investigation of the “Skinwalker” Ranch.

George Knapp is a 14-time Emmy Award-winning journalist whose reporting on Nevada’s infamous Area 51 military base was selected by UPI as Best Individual Achievement by a Reporter (1989). Other awards include the Associated Press’s Mark Twain Award for news writing and the Edward R. Murrow Award for Investigative Reporting. George is an anchor and reporter for the CBS affiliate KLAS-TV in Las Vegas and he also writes a weekly column for a Las Vegas newspaper.

“UFOs and the National Security State”

Richard M. Dolan was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1962. He holds an MA in history from the University of Rochester and a Certificate in Political Theory from Oxford University. He was also a Rhodes Scholar finalist. Prior to his interest in anomalous phenomena, Dolan studied U.S. Cold War strategy, Soviet history, and international diplomacy.

 In 2000, he published a 500-page study, UFOs and the National Security State. This is the first volume of a two-part historical narrative of the national security dimensions of the UFO phenomena from 1941 to 1973. The Book includes records from more than fifty military bases relating to violations of sensitive airspace by unknown objects, demonstrating that the U.S. military has taken the topic of UFOs very seriously indeed.

Apollo 14 astronaut Dr. Edgar Mitchell called Dolan’s book “monumental,” while Dr. Hal Puthoff, Director of the Institute for Advanced Studies at Austin, declared it to be “a must-read for serious students in the field.”

Dolan believes recovered alien technology is in the possession of powerful private multinational interests, who may also be pulling the strings of the U.S. government and other governments across the world. He speculates that former President George H. W. Bush  may have knowledge about UFOs. However, he believes most government officials do not. According to Dolan, responsibility for “the UFO problem” was formally removed from the Office of the President in 1969. Dolan believes that multinational corporations have subverted our traditional constitutional government in order to protect the knowledge they’ve acquired about UFOs and alien technology. Such technology includes fiber optics, lasers and integrated circuit chips.

Dolan will tell us about media control and self-censorship of information about UFOs, governmental black budget spending and how elaborate cover-stories  about UFOs have been maintained for so long. Dolan has appeared on numerous television documentaries for the History Channel, Sci Fi Channel, as well as the BBC and European networks. He appears regularly on radio stations throughout the U.S., including Coast to Coast. In 2006, he hosted a six-episode series, Sci Fi Investigates, produced by NBC for the Sci Fi Channel. Dolan has published numerous articles on anomalous phenomena, science and the intelligence community.

“"The Starchild Skull"

Lloyd Pye is an author, researcher, and lecturer in the field of alternative knowledge. He calls on over 30 years of experience to write and speak about the origins of life, human origins, Hominoids (bigfoot, sasquatch, yeti, and others), and the work of Zechara Sitchin. Maverick archaeologist and adventurer David Hatcher Childress is a prolific author of books on many subjects: lost cities, vimana aircraft, Tesla Technology Pre-Columbian trans-oceanic contact and Atlantis. Eisenhower's Secret Trip to Holloman Air Force Base to View ET Craft

Art has gone beyond field research into the San Augustin crash and begun a groundbreaking exploration of the possible role of President Eisenhower in the UFO phenomenon.

The year was 1955. Gasoline was 23 cents a gallon, the minimum wage was 75 cents and President Eisenhower was in the third year of his first term. The world was poised on the brink of international crisis: Eisenhower had just threatened the Red Chinese that if they invaded Formosa (Taiwan), they would face the threat of nuclear war. Our allies were concerned and angry, and the Russians were ready to test their first megaton H-bomb. With all this international tension, what did the leader of the free world do? He went bird hunting in Georgia!

At least, that was the cover story. What really happened was something else entirely, something involving off-world national security issues. Through diligent research, Art Campbell has tracked down eye-witnesses who support the claim that Eisenhower actually detoured to New Mexico’s Holloman Air Force Base to view extraterrestrial craft. Art will be showing us footage from interviews with these witnesses.

Was it a coincidence that on the day of Eisenhower’s visit, the base radar was shut down and two UFOs were seen flying into the base at low altitude? Art Campbell has been interested in UFO research since the 1950s. He was an early NICAP investigator in the 1950s in Kansas City, Missouri, where he worked with Donald Keyhoe. In 1994, with a map from a rancher, he visited the site on the Plains of San Augustin, New Mexico, 165 miles west of Roswell, where some believe a UFO crashed in July, 1947. There he found a phenomenal amount of physical material. He subsequently had it scientifically analyzed and was able to identify seven kinds of unusual foil containing high levels of silicon, iron and manganese which were unknown to the foil industry at that time. Much of this compelling research was documented in Art’s book, UFO Crash at San Augustin. In 1958, Art met President Harry Truman, and Donald Keyhoe's subsequent letter to President Truman on this topic is quoted in the beginning of his book.

Art has lectured for many UFO groups throughout the years, and has been a featured guest on dozens of radio shows. Besides being a published author, Art is a Navy veteran who had a productive career as a teacher and school administrator. Now retired, Art and his wife live in Medford, Oregon. Eye Witness Accounts from Our Members

This program will feature our members talking about their own experiences. Some preliminary titles include: “My Personal Experiences”, “Seeing Is Believing”, “A Life-changing Complete Alien Abduction Experience”, “Personal Recollections since Age 4”, “My Three own Personal Experiences”, “My 1965 Daylight Sighting” and “A Close Encounter while in the Navy”. The talks will last 10, 15 or 20 minutes, depending on content, including Q&A.

Each talk will be timed to ensure smooth flow. Each person will relate a specific first-hand encounter they have had either seeing a UFO or interacting with aliens. This has the potential to be one of the best meetings of the year!

Biographical Information

Born in 1954, Jim Sparks spent his early years in Florida. He studied real estate at a community college there and after that, began working for a major condominium firm. In 1979, his company transferred him to Houston, Texas. After 12 year, he went out on his own and started his own company, J&J Properties, a natural land development company that operated mostly in North Carolina. A conservationist at heart, he made efforts to remove as few trees as possible from the land used in his development projects.

At 34 years old, Sparks’ relatively mundane life was changed forever when he began having encounters with otherworldly beings in 1988. At first, he thought these unexplained incidents were simply very vivid dreams. After eighteen years of interaction with these beings, Sparks’ attitude has changed from one of resistance to one of cooperation. He feels it is important for him to share his experiences with others. Now 53, Jim Sparks lives in Las Vegas, Nevada where until recently, he ran a debt consolidation company. Like many of us, he’s concerned about the declining health of the planet. His favorite environmental campaign is work being done by the Nature Conservancy to preserve critical rainforest in the Atlantic Forest region of South America.

Paul Stonehill was just eight years old when he met the retired pilot who would change his life. While flying over the Russian arctic, the pilot told Stonehill he had seen a disk-shaped craft following his plane so closely that his crew opened fire. Intrigued, the youngster began a lifelong quest to learn about UFOs, especially those sighted over his homeland of Kiev. After emigrating to the United States as a teen, Stonehill kept in touch with other Russians interested in the Soviet-banned study of UFOlogy by smuggling messages through friends. Now a 34-year-old executive and naturalized U.S.citizen, Stonehill says his networking has put him in touch with scientists, military personnel, and UFO witnesses and investigators all over the former USSR. In fact, thanks to glasnost and his recently established Russian UFOlogy Research Center in Tarzana, California, Stonehill now openly acts as liaison between UFOlogy contacts in Russia and the new Commonwealth of Independent States and counterparts in the United States. "I want to provide Americans with a true picture of UFOlogy in the former Soviet Union," Stonehill comments, "and I want to help my Russian colleagues discern between tabloid UFOlogy and serious research." 

Toward that end, Stonehill reviews hundreds of Russian UFO cases a year,calling some 60 percent "genuine, backed by witnesses and hard facts." In fact, piecing together information from his Russian contacts, Stonehill says he's come up with evidence that UFOlogy was a focus of the former Soviet regime. For instance, when a large UFO allegedly plummeted to Earth outside the city of Omsk in the late 1980s,the military reportedly moved the wreckage to Moscow. "Soviet academics have confirmed that it was taken to five secret state research sites," Stonehill insists. "My sources say the Soviet government conducted secret research based on the technology devised from this crash." Based on research by underground Soviet UFOlogists such as Anatoly Cistratav, Stonehill now also suspects there must have been some joint U.S.-Soviet programs aimed at developing the so-called Star Wars technology. 

Meanwhile, when it comes to fostering communication between Russian and American UFOlogists, Stonehill isn't alone. Former NASA experimental psychologist Richard Haines of Los Altos, California, recently founded the Joint USA-CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States) Aerial Anomaly Federation. The Federation, including more than 160 groups throughout the United States and the former Soviet Union, will sponsor yearly meetings, translate UFO documents, and encourage collaborative scientific research into UFOs. Haines is also studying the difference between alien abductions reported in the United States and the former USSR. After hypnotizing a number of Russians in their native language, Haines has concluded that the "stories are basically the same over there, except that Russians tend to describe aliens taller than those in the West." 

James Oberg, an expert on the Soviet space program and pundit on the UFO scene in the former USSR, however, takes a dim view of UFOlogy as practiced in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States. "They're often weirder than the weirdest American group," he comments, "because they've been living in an information vacuum for so long." Stonehill, predictably, disagrees. Russian UFOlogists need help, not criticism, he states. A case in point: Russian researchers don't even have access to equipment for analyzing a film purported to depict a UFO hovering near Odessa last year. "Russian UFOlogists need state-of-the-art research tools," Stonehill concludes. "They need more visits from their Western colleagues and fewer debunkers on their backs."

Don Ledger is a writer and the author of 3 books. His most recent book is "Dark Object", co-authored with Chris Styles, deals with the crash of a UFO into the water off of Shag Harbour , Nova Scotia on October 4, 1967. Mr. Ledger's other two books are, "Swissair Down", which dealt with the crash of Swissair Flight 111 in September of 1998 and "The Maritime UFO Files", a compendium of 145 UFO reports from the 1930s to the present day on the east coast of Canada.

Don is a regular contributor to the Toronto based radio show "Strange Days Indeed", hosted by Errol Bruce-Knapp. He has been involved in half a dozen television documentaries dealing with both the Shag Harbour Incident and UFOs in general, as well as numerous radio shows in both Canada and the United States. He has been an active UFO investigator for over 10 years.

Recently he became the Canadian Technical Affiliate for NARCAP-the National Aviation Reporting Center for Anomalous Phenomena based in the United States.

UFO'S AND INVISIBILITY...THE TECHNICAL CORE OF THE MYSTERY!!!

When Trevor James Constable wrote in his 1957 book, that most UFOs are invisible, he was shunned by ufologists no less by the general public.. That was the time of UFO names like George Adamski, Dan Fry and George Van Tassel - fifty years ago. Trevor based his claim of UFO invisibility on a couple of years of photographic research using INFRARED film in ordinary cameras. Infrared film records light that you cannot see with your unaided physical sight. Working only with a single associate, the late Dr. James O. Woods, together they compiled an amazing gallery of photographs of invisible objects. These were photos of two basic kinds: living organisms and electrically-propelled craft. Trevor advanced the startling theory that both the "critters" and the craft were driven or propelled by the animating life energy. This did not go down well with the ufologists, who were not comfortable with his conclusion the UFOs were part of an invisible, parallel world. to our own...

Barred from the UFO lecture circuit, because he was not willing to subscribe to the notion, 50 years ago, that UFOs were ships from other planets, with men in them, Trevor left the UFO field and took up the engineering of weather, using the late Dr. Wilhelm Reich's famous "cloud buster" invention. In a 26 year  career in the U.S. Merchant Marine as a Radio Electronics Officer. He explored and also greatly modified Dr. Reich's cloud buster. By 1994 he had carried this work into an effective airborne modality and formed a Singapore company for its world expansion.

The fifty years that have passed since his original discoveries, have seen an enormous expansion of science and space technology.  Men have walked on the moon. Yet still, Trevor James Constable hold that most UFO's are invisible. Over whelming government-obtained evidence released into the public domain, now confirms this fact. Even today, it is startling to be compelled, by NASA video, to accept that fifty years ago, in a bold leap into the future-on a research budget of $200 a month-Trevor pointed the way to world science in confronting the UFO  incursion. HOW DO YOU KNOW IT’S A UFO?

You see a light in the sky.  Is it a star, an airplane, a military flare, or a bona fide UFO?  Marsha Adams, president of the International Earthlight Alliance,  will show you methods to determine if your sighting is truly anomalous.  Adams has done field research for more than a decade taking photographs and geophysical measurements in areas where “earthlights” occur, at sacred sites in the American Southwest, Norway, Scotland and England.  (Earthlights are balls of light that arise spontaneously over the ground. Earthlights are often mistakenly classified as craft). 

Both earthlight researchers and UFOlogists encounter the same challenges determining the validity of their sightings. In order to ensure time is spent studying valid sightings, it is necessary to be your own harsh skeptic.  Although many sightings appear exotic, a very high percentage of sightings are natural or man-made artifacts such as weather phenomenon, aircraft, car headlights, house lights, lens flares, dust particles, and pranks.  Adams will help you recognize these by showing pictures from her data base of numerous “look alike” artifacts and controls.  She will discuss techniques for differentiating true “unknowns” from known artifacts including the now popular “orbs” appearing in digital camera pictures.  She will also show pictures of earthlights she has photographed in the US and Europe.

Occasionally during her expeditions, Adams has photographed unexplained glowing objects that appear to be craft, but do not match known artifacts or aircraft profiles. She will show pictures of  an object on the ground in the Southern Arizona desert.  It was videotaped simultaneously for several minutes in both optical and infrared until it disappeared on camera.  You will be perplexed by what else it does.

Dr. Burkes reported on the ongoing amazing encounters occurring within the contact movement. Dr. Joseph Burkes was born in New York in 1949. After attending UCLA as an undergraduate, in 1976 he received his MD degree from Tufts University in Boston. Since 1979 he has been a staff physician for a large HMO in Southern California. His area of specialization is general internal medicine. Dr Burkes has worked in primary care, geriatrics, occupational medicine and in the emergency room department of his medical group.

Dr. Burkes has participated in a number of peace and social justice movements of the last century. During the 1960's he was a student activist working to end the war in Vietnam. The follow decade as a young doctor he served as an organizer and medical consultant to the Los Angeles Committee on Occupational Safety and Health. That group was part of a nation wide coalition of health and legal professionals who labored to make the American workplace safer. In the 1980's he was a member of Physicians for Social Responsibility (PSR). Its educational campaign focused on ending the nuclear arms race. In the Los Angeles chapter of PSR Dr. Burkes served as head of Speaker Training and co-produced the physicians radio show, "Prescription for Survival." He briefly served on the national board of Directors of PSR. During the cold war he traveled to the former Soviet Union four times as part of the umbrella organization international Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War. This group received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1985 for its educational campaign to warn world citizens and governments of the growing dangers of the nuclear arms race.

In May of 1992, less than a year after the fall of the Soviet Union Dr. Burkes met fellow ER physician Dr. Steven Greer. For the next five years Dr. Burkes was closely associated with Dr. Greer's Center for the Study of Extraterrestrial Intelligence (CSETI). This research organization studied the UFO phenomenon by directly attempting to interact with an extraterrestrial intelligence presumably responsible for the appearance of some UFOs. CSETI under Dr. Greer's leadership devised a set of contact protocols that allowed field investigators to carry out real-time research of the flying saucer phenomenon. On Dr. Burkes' first fieldwork session, with multiple other witnesses present, he observed anomalous nocturnal light that fulfilled his definition of a UFO. Human initiated contact with the presumed intelligence responsible for UFOs is designated by CSETI as a Close Encounter of the Fifth Kind(CE-5). The CSETI project facilitating these encounters has been called the CE-5 Initiative. In August of 1992 Dr. Burkes was named as Los Angeles Working Group Coordinator for the CE-5 Initiative. He held this CSETI post till 1998. In the course of his contact work Dr. Burkes reports witnessing multiple CE-5s in the US, Mexico and England. 

Dr. Burkes views his work with the contact movement as an extension of his past efforts, to establish peace and social justice. If the ET Hypothesis is correct, as CSETI maintains, and non-human intelligence of an Extraterrestrial nature is present on our planet, than a citizens' diplomatic movement will be required to promote peaceful contact with our newly found neighbors.

In 1998 as the result of family and professional responsibilities, Dr. Burkes resigned form his leadership position in the Center for the Study of Extraterrestrial Intelligence. He continues to be of interested in the UFO phenomenon and the need to further peaceful contacts with the non-human intelligence presumably responsible for it.

Dr. Burkes has been married to Yeal Bentovim since 1975. They have two adult offspring, Julia and Jonathan Burkes. The Burkes enjoy the company of 2 dogs. Yogi and Masha, their cat Ricky and a 96 year old desert tortoise called Moishe.

PROJECT BETA: HOW THE U.S. GOVERNMENT CREATED AN ALIEN INVASION Greg Bishop will be speaking on his research into the story of electrical physicist Paul Bennewitz, who thought he had stumbled onto evidence of an alien invasion, but in the process was directing attention to secret projects at Kirtland Air Force Base, New Mexico in the early 1980s. The Bennewitz episode provided the blueprint for wild UFO conspiracy tales for the next 20 years or more, and a warning to researchers not to confuse the authority of the messenger with the truth of the message. Frank Feschino

The Night They Were Here -- The Flatwoods Monster Incident!

Feschino opens up his presentation by speaking about his involvement in the 1952, Flatwoods Monster case. The audience will then see a documentary produced by the author which he narrates. During his research Feschino recorded rare eyewitness testimonies and the many on-site locations involved in the story.

The never before seen eyewitness interviews and location footage are balanced with Feschino's full color Illustrations as he takes the audience on a step-by-step adventure into the story.

Nuclear Physicist and Ufologist Stanton T. Friedman who worked with Feschino and wrote the foreword, and epilog for his book "The Braxton County Monster" makes a guest appearance in this documentary. 

Upon graduation from high school, Frank Feschino Jr. was accepted to Paier School of Art, a private college in Hamden Connecticut. His major field of study was Commercial Art, specialized in Illustration, with a minor in Advertising. Along with these studies, he also studied Photography. After completing a four year program, he received an Art’s Diploma in 1981. After graduation, he worked as an illustrator and assisted in his father’s business.

In the early 1990’s, Feschino became involved in UFO and Crop Circle research in West Virginia. He frequently visited a relative’s farm located in Braxton County, where Crop Circles appeared over night and UFO sightings were frequent. This is when Feschino learned about the 1952 “Braxton County Monster” Incident, which occurred in Flatwoods, near his cousin’s farm. In 1991, he contacted MUFON and was granted a meeting with Crop Circle enthusiast, Colin Andrews. Shortly afterward, Feschino met with MUFON representatives and Colin Andrews and supplied him with his West Virginia UFO and Crop Circle documentation. He continued to collaborate with Andrews about the ongoing anomalies occurring in Braxton County but Frank’s curiosity with the Flatwoods Incident proved to be his calling. He began to investigate this 1952 incident at a deeper level and devoted all of his time to it. Feschino moved to Florida to further his education. In 1993, he enrolled in Phillip’s JR College and studied film and video production. He continued to travel to West Virginia during his schooling but was now armed with camera operation knowledge as well as interviewing and scriptwriting skills. It was during Frank’s two-year training program that the Braxton County Monster evolved into a production project. He combined his strong Art background together with his video production and scriptwriting skills; his story began to take shape.

After graduating from Phillip’s JR College, Feschino began to travel more and expanded his research throughout the eastern United States, continually gathering more information. His investigation gained the attention of television and radio psychic, Gary Spivey. Frank voiced nearly 50 radio shows in Florida discussing the subject of UFOs and his West Virginia research. He made several guest appearances in the Tampa area at conventions and then expanded his radio audience into the Atlanta area as well as the Baltimore area. Meanwhile, Frank was working on his video documentary and piecing it together from his script when he simultaneously began writing a book. This hectic schedule put a temporary end to his public appearances and he again concentrated solely on his book project. After going into seclusion for the next few years, Frank finished his book. In addition to his book manuscript, he also illustrated it with over 40 paintings and drawings as well as hundreds of accompanying photographs. In October of 2001, Frank Feschino JR went public again after his four-year absence. This time he went public in Flatwoods West Virginia as a guest of the town’s mayor. Frank appeared at the Flatwoods Fall Festival with special guests, witnesses Fred and Kathleen May, who made a very rare public appearance. This public appearance marked and celebrated the 49th Anniversary of the Flatwoods Monster Incident. Frank informed several hundred curious visitors who came to Flatwoods inquiring about the story, that a book would soon be made available. Feschino’s dedication and devotion to this story has gained the trust of those involved in this incident to only speak with him and no one else.

Several other key witnesses involved directly with this incident that were interviewed by Feschino have since passed away during the past ten years. Although they are no longer with us, Feschino has their interviews and testimonies on video and audiotape. Frank Feschino JR holds the key to unlocking the truth and the ability to make the public aware of what actually occurred on September 12, 1952.

For those familiar with Frank Edward's exceptional 1966 book, Flying Saucers-Serious Business, Glenn Steckling, Director of the George Adamski Foundation, discusses this subject with equal seriousness and reverence for its intricate and real history.

The Steckling family brings to this subject over 40 years of information and personal experience pertaining to the existence of UFOs and extraterrestrial visitations. Mr. Steckling's father, the late Fred Steckling, was a close friend and coworker of George Adamski, considered by some THE Pioneer in the UFO field.    Bruce Maccabee

Bruce Maccabee  presented his best and most interesting UFO analysis cases.

Bruce spent his early year in Rutland, Vt. After high school he studied physics at Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester, Mass (B.S. in physics) and then at The American University, Washington, DC (M.S. and Ph. D. in physics). 

In 1972 commenced his long career at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, presently headquartered at Dahlgren, Virginia. He has worked on optical data processing, generation of underwater sound with lasers and various aspects of the Strategic Defense Initiative (SDI) and Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) using high power lasers. Bruce Maccabee has been active in UFO research since late 1960s when he joined the National Investigations Committee on Aerial Phenomena (NICAP) and was active in research and investigation for NICAP until its demise in 1980. He became a member of MUFON in 1975 and was subequently appointed to the position of state Director for Maryland, a position he still holds.
